We visited Horrible Science: Cosmic Chaos at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester and it was such a fun family day out! 🚀 From touching a real piece of the Moon 🌕 to exploring interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, there’s so much for kids to enjoy. Alice loved dressing up as an astronaut and both kids had so much fun throughout. Even though our time slot was sold out, it didn’t feel overcrowded at all — there was plenty of space to explore and we never felt rushed. Come along with me for Weekly Vlog #448, a real-life UK family vlog sharing our week of 30th March – 6th April 💜 This week includes Easter preparations, baking, crafts, a theatre trip to The Lowry and a fun-filled Easter party with family. 🎭 Theatre Night at The Lowry On Tuesday evening, my mum and I headed to the press night of Top Hat The Musical at The Lowry (gifted tickets), which was such a lovely night out together. Top Hat is a classic musical based on the famous 1935 film, following Broadway star Jerry Travers as he arrives in London and falls in love with Dale Tremont — although things don’t quite go to plan thanks to a case of mistaken identity and plenty of comedy along the way. I also started making our Easter party piñata, which this year was a chick hatching from its egg 🐣 🛍️ Shopping & Easter Finds I headed out to B&M with my parents, which turned into a bit of a mission with roadworks and not much luck finding what I needed. Luckily, we had better success in Home Bargains and managed to pick up some Easter bits there. 🧁 Baking & Party Prep With the Easter holidays starting, we spent time baking and preparing for our party. Across the week we made cupcakes, biscuits, cornflake cakes, chocolate nests and more, as well as decorating everything ready for the celebrations. 🐰 Easter Sunday & Family Party On Easter Sunday, the kids woke up to a surprise from the Easter Bunny before we got everything ready for the day. While they were busy playing, I finished off the piñata and got everything prepared for the Easter egg hunt. Once family arrived, we spent the afternoon eating, playing games and celebrating together. We had an Easter egg hunt in the garden, an egg and spoon race, party games and of course the piñata — which was definitely a highlight! Come along with me for Weekly Vlog #447, a real-life UK family vlog sharing our week of 23rd – 29th March 💜 This week includes a dentist visit, Easter prep, a theatre trip, family life and a cosy week at home. 🦷 Dentist Visit & A Slow Start Monday didn’t quite go to plan as I had a dentist appointment in the afternoon, which meant I couldn’t really focus on anything beforehand. The appointment itself wasn’t great either, as I found out one of my teeth needs to come out. 🛍️ ASDA Trip, Trafford Centre & Parents Evening On Tuesday, Lawrence had the day off so we headed to ASDA to pick up some Easter bits and grab Alice a new cardigan and leggings. We then went over to the Trafford Centre for lunch at KFC, had a look in the Haribo shop and Primark, and picked up a few bits for Leo. In the evening, we went to Alice’s parents’ evening, which went really well — we were so proud of how hard she’s working. 🎭 Theatre Trip to The Lowry Later that evening, I went to The Lowry with my dad to see Eric and Ern. I also made some fun themed treats including leprechaun chocolate hats, chocolate lollies and chocolate covered breadsticks. Despite dealing with a toothache, I still managed to get everything ready in time. 🎉 St Patrick’s Day Party On Wednesday, we hosted our St Patrick’s Day party 🎉 While the kids were at school, Lawrence and I got everything set up — I focused on the food while Lawrence cleaned the house and put up the decorations. For the party food, I made shamrock pizzas, puff pastry wrapped hot dogs and green lemonade. Once everyone arrived, we ate first and then played some fun party games, including find the leprechaun’s treasure and pin the shamrock on the leprechaun’s hat. It was such a fun evening and everything came together perfectly. 🛁 Rest Day & Self Care After such a busy few days, Thursday became a much-needed rest and self-care day. I had a relaxing bath and used one of the bath bombs I got for Mother’s Day — exactly what I needed. 🍽️ Late Mother’s Day Treat On Friday, I took my mum out for a late Mother’s Day lunch at Nando’s, followed by a little look around the shops, which was really nice. Come along with me for Weekly Vlog #445, where I share what my family and I got up to during the week 9th – 15th March in this real-life UK family vlog. 💜 This week includes Easter shopping, a theatre trip, Mother’s Day celebrations and family life moments. 🛍️ Easter Shopping & Trafford Centre Day On Tuesday, Lawrence had the day off work so we got the bus to ASDA to pick up bits for Easter — but they didn’t have much out yet apart from Easter eggs, and there weren’t any good multibuy offers, so we decided to leave them. We then headed over to the Trafford Centre, grabbed some lunch from KFC, and had a look around Lush and the Haribo shop, where I picked up a mystery bag. On the way home we stopped at our local Home Bargains, where I managed to get everything I needed for the kids’ Easter baskets, and then popped into Aldi where we found cheaper Easter eggs. 🎮 Birthday Shopping in Manchester On Thursday we headed into Manchester city centre to look for a few bits for Leo’s birthday. We had a browse in CEX and The Entertainer, before picking up a Nintendo Switch game from Argos, then grabbed some lunch before heading home. 🎤 Alice’s School Concert On Friday, Alice took part in a singing concert at Waterside Arts, and Lawrence and I went along to watch her. She did so well, and it was such a lovely moment seeing her take part and enjoy herself. Later that day, after school, we made a shamrock paper chain ready for our St Patrick’s Day party. 🎭 Brave Bettie at Z-arts & Early Mother’s Day On Saturday we celebrated Mother’s Day a day early, as Lawrence was working on Sunday. On Monday Lawrence had the day off work, so we got the bus to ASDA to pick up new school shoes for Leo and look for a trench coat for Alice’s World Book Day costume (her school theme was spies). In this video I’m sharing my vlog and review of the Operation Mincemeat UK Tour at The Lowry in Salford, where Lawrence and I attended the press night of the Olivier Award-winning musical. The evening started with a look at the Operation Mincemeat merchandise stand, followed by collecting our tickets and programme from the press desk. The theatre had a special press and guest reception area with themed biscuits and drinks before the show, and there was even a yellow carpet photo area with props.. We were seated in Row S in the stalls, which gave us a great view of the stage. Operation Mincemeat tells the unbelievable true story of the World War II intelligence mission where British spies attempted to mislead the Nazis using a disguised corpse carrying fake invasion plans. It sounds unbelievable, but it really happened!
