Welcome to Weekly Vlog #465! This week we head into Manchester for a family shopping trip, go looking for the new Pokémon Krispy Kreme doughnuts and I show you some of the artwork I've been creating in Procreate. 🛍️🍩🎨 With Lawrence off work, we took Alice and Leo into Manchester to spend some money they'd been given by their great-grandparents. We visited The Entertainer, Argos, Primark and a few other shops, with the children finding plenty of things they wanted along the way! Later in the week, our bargain new air fryer arrived, I spent some more time drawing on my iPad and working on my Procreate artwork, and I headed out with my dad and brother on a mission to find the new Pokémon Krispy Kreme doughnuts. This week we head to the Trafford Centre for a family day out, including a look around Kenji, a game of bowling at King Pins Trafford Centre and a wander around Selfridges, including Disney, Jellycat and the toy department. Come with us to the press night of Disney's High School Musical at Lowry in Salford, Greater Manchester! 🏀🎭 In this theatre vlog and review, we're heading to East High for the brand-new stage production of High School Musical – and we gave it 5 STARS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We take you along for our press-night experience, including the High School Musical photo opportunities, Wildcats pom-poms, karaoke, Sharpay's dressing table, merchandise, our seats and the fantastic pre-show atmosphere before sharing my full review of the production. I thought the staging was incredibly clever, the choreography was fantastic and the huge ensemble numbers brought so much energy to the Lyric Theatre. Get'cha Head in the Game was a particular highlight, with basketballs incorporated into the choreography, and I absolutely loved Sharpay's fabulous costumes. The production stars Tobias Turley as Troy Bolton, Leonor Correia as Gabriella Montez, Caitlin Tipping as Sharpay Evans and Luke Bayer as Ryan Evans, alongside Jason Donovan as Coach Bolton and original High School Musical movie cast member KayCee Stroh as Ms Darbus. It’s Weekly Vlog #463! This week we went to a preview screening of PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie at HOME Manchester, met Chase and Skye, made PAW Patrol sock puppets and had a family trip to the cinema. 🐾🦖 We also had a trip to see Miss Saigon at the Palace Theatre Manchester, and I spent some time drawing on my iPad and turning my artwork into mugs and pens. Our week started with a very exciting trip to HOME Manchester for a preview screening of the new PAW Patrol movie, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie. Before the screening, the children got to meet Chase and Skye and then had a go at making their own dog sock puppets. After that, we headed into the cinema to watch the film. We all thought it was fantastic and had such a lovely afternoon. 🎟️ PR/GIFTED – Our tickets to the PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie preview screening were kindly gifted. Later in the week, I headed into Manchester for the matinee performance of Miss Saigon at the Palace Theatre. My mum and dad already had tickets for the same performance, so we met up beforehand and got some food before heading into the theatre. 🏀 High School Musical has arrived at Lowry – and we gave it 5 STARS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Come with us to the press night of High School Musical at Lowry in Salford, Greater Manchester. This new stage production has clever staging, fantastic choreography and huge ensemble numbers packed with energy. Get'cha Head in the Game was a particular highlight, with the basketballs becoming part of the choreography. Before the show, we got into the Wildcats spirit with pom-poms, photo opportunities, High School Musical karaoke and Sharpay’s dressing table before heading into the theatre for the show. 📣💖 The production was fantastic, with brilliant choreography, huge dance numbers, clever staging and all those familiar High School Musical songs. I’ve always enjoyed the movie, but I actually think I enjoyed the stage production even more! Come with me to see The Ballad of Johnny & June at The Lowry in Salford! 🤠🎶 In this theatre vlog and review, I take you along to the press night of The Ballad of Johnny & June, the new Johnny Cash musical telling the story of Johnny Cash and June Carter through their lives, relationship and music. I went to the show with my dad, who grew up listening to Johnny Cash, while I went in knowing very little about Johnny and June's story and only really knowing Ring of Fire. It was really interesting seeing the show from two completely different perspectives. Malory Towers review and theatre vlog from HOME Manchester! 🎭 Alice and I went to see Emma Rice's stage adaptation of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers, and neither of us had read the books before – so what did we think? Come along with us for our trip to HOME Manchester before I share my full review of the show, including the story, cast, live music, imaginative staging, puppetry and what my eight-year-old daughter thought of the production. In this week's family vlog: 🎭 I get the bus to Lowry to review Oh Zeus! and, because I arrive early, stop at Nando's for some food before the show 🛒 I finally put together a new trolley for my craft room to organise some of my craft machines 🎨 We head to HOME Manchester for Day 1 of the free Little HOME Family Festival, starting with crafts in Creativity Corner 🚀 Leo helps create a cardboard rocket while Alice enjoys some drawing 🏠 We watch Tales From The Lighthouse in Theatre 1 🧺 Have our packed lunch outside while watching the brilliant Kismat Wala puppet show 🎨 Try giant Connect 4, outdoor drawing and even more crafts 🐭 Watch All In A Mouse's Night 🥁 Alice and Leo make their own little drums in Creativity Corner 🎬 Finish our first day with a relaxed screening of Puffin Rock and the New Friends, followed by pizza and chips at HOME before catching the bus back Then on Sunday, we're back at Little HOME for Day 2, this time with Lawrence joining us. 🥁 We watch a fantastic outdoor performance from Batala Manchester. It was a little too loud for Leo, so he headed back inside to Creativity Corner while Alice stayed outside dancing to the music 🍪 Decorate biscuits before heading back to the theatre 🎭 Watch Over To You: The Storytelling Gameshow, where Alice is picked to take part in the show! 🔖 Head straight into Theatre 2 for The Magic Bookmark, which was so much fun 🎪 Finish our weekend trying some circus skills with Skylight Circus and doing a little more outdoor drawing before heading home completely exhausted! It was such a busy couple of days at HOME Manchester, but we had a brilliant time. Join us for Weekly Vlog #461 as we get ready for my birthday, head to The Lowry for a theatre trip, enjoy a child-free date day at the Trafford Centre and finish the week celebrating my birthday with friends and family! 🎂🎭 In this week's family vlog: 🎭 I head to The Lowry with my mum to see The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, starring Ralf Little 🎳 Lawrence and I enjoy an early birthday date at the Trafford Centre, starting with bowling at King Pins 🍔 We have lunch at TGI Fridays, including my favourite steak with whiskey glaze and chocolate fudge cake with ice cream for dessert 🍩 Pick up a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and visit the Haribo shop 🎁 My birthday present arrives – a refurbished 9th generation iPad and Apple Pencil, which I bought so I can start creating my own artwork in Procreate 🎭 I design a huge musical theatre card game for my birthday party... before realising I'd somehow planned to make around 300 cards! 🎂 Get creative making my own musical theatre birthday decorations, including a personalised Costco birthday cake, cupcakes, biscuits, crisp packets and lots of pink and green treats 🎤 Celebrate my birthday with friends and family before getting out our old Xbox 360 and playing Lips karaoke It was such a busy week with lots of birthday preparation, creativity, theatre and family time, ending with my actual birthday on Sunday. Come with us to a special preview screening of PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie at HOME Manchester! HOME rolled out the red carpet with fun family activities, photo opportunities and even some very cute four-legged guests before we headed into the cinema. In this new adventure, the PAW Patrol pups crash land on a tropical island full of dinosaurs, where they meet Rex. But when Mayor Humdinger's latest plan causes a volcano to erupt, the pups have to work together to save the island in their biggest rescue yet. One thing that really stood out to us was that the screening was relaxed. Leo doesn't usually enjoy going to the cinema because he finds it too dark and too loud, but he absolutely loved watching the film at HOME. The lights were kept on low, the volume was turned down slightly, and it made the whole experience much more comfortable for our family. If you've got little PAW Patrol fans at home, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie is showing at HOME from the 7th to the 13th of August, and all of the screenings are relaxed. We had such a paw-some day out, and we'd definitely recommend it for a fun summer holiday family trip!

🕵️ Come with me to see The Spy Who Came in from the Cold at The Lowry! I went into this production without ever reading John le Carré's novel or seeing any of the previous adaptations, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. This Cold War spy drama takes a little while to get going, but once all the pieces start coming together, it becomes a gripping story full of twists, secrets and betrayal. Ralf Little gives a strong performance as Alec Leamas, supported by an excellent cast and atmospheric staging that keeps the tension building throughout. ⭐ I gave it 3.5 stars.
