Weekly Vlog #455 | Heatwave, Waitress The Musical & Half Term Family Fun
Come along with us for Weekly Vlog #455, where we share what we got up to during the week of 25th – 31st May in this real-life UK family vlog 💜 This week was half term and also the hottest week of the year so far ☀️ which meant lots of garden play, paddling pools, ice lollies and trying to stay cool. We also had a lovely theatre trip to see Waitress The Musical at Palace Theatre Manchester. 🎭 Waitress The Musical – Palace Theatre Manchester On Wednesday, I headed into Manchester to see Waitress The Musical at Palace Theatre Manchester. It’s such a lovely musical with some fantastic songs, emotional moments and lots of humour throughout. I really enjoyed revisiting the show again and hearing all the music live on stage. 👉 You can read more about my visit and shorter review on my blog Sarah Monaghan https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/waitress-uk-tour-at-the-palace-theatre-manchester 👉 And you can read my full review on All About Theatre https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-waitress-uk-tour-the-palace-theatre-manchester ☀️ Heatwave & Pirate Ship Paddling Pool Fun On Thursday, the weather was incredibly hot, so Lawrence got the pirate ship paddling pool out for the kids in the garden. Alice absolutely loved pretending to be a pirate and spent ages playing pirates with Daddy in the water 🏴☠️ Poor Leo found the heat a bit too much though, so he mostly stayed inside next to the fan playing on his tablet where it was cooler. Later on, we made some homemade ice lollies together and the kids were very excited eating them once they had frozen. 🏰 Park Trip & Bouncy Castle Fun On Friday, Lawrence took the kids to the park while I stayed home. When they got back, he set up the bouncy castle in the garden which the children were so excited about. They spent ages bouncing around and enjoying the sunshine while making the most of half term. 💦 Water Fights, Slides & Paddling Pools On Saturday, Leo asked if we could get his smaller paddling pool out as well, so Lawrence got it set up in the garden. The children then decided they wanted to use the slide with the pool so they could slide into the water, which they thought was hilarious. Lawrence also set up the water cannon from the pirate ship pool and the kids spent ages running around spraying each other with water and laughing. While the children were busy playing outside, I finally opened my new air fryer which I bought a couple of weeks ago but hadn’t had chance to set up yet. 🧹 Sunday Reset & Editing Day On Sunday, I spent the day hoovering my craft room and editing this weekly vlog. After such a busy and warm week, it was nice having a quieter day at home to get organised again before the new week started. 🔗 Read More About Our Week If you’d like to read more about our week in more detail, you can read our Family Weekly Update blog post over on my blog Sarah Monaghan here: 👉 https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/family-weekly-update-25th-–-31st-may-waitress-the-musical-heatwave-week-half-term-fun If you enjoy weekly vlogs, UK family life, theatre trips, real-life family routines, don’t forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment 💬 🎶 Music from Epidemic Sound. Weekly Vlog #454 | Bluey’s Big Play, Trafford Centre Shopping & Sports Day
Come along with us for Weekly Vlog #454, where we share what we got up to during the week of 18th – 24th May in this real-life UK family vlog 💜 This week included Alice’s sports day, Trafford Centre shopping, holiday clothes shopping, a little haul and a family theatre trip to see Bluey’s Big Play at The Lowry. 🏃 Alice’s Sports Day On Tuesday, I went to Alice’s sports day with my parents. Unfortunately, just as Alice started her running race, there was a huge downpour of rain 🌧️ so the school decided to finish the event a little early. Afterwards, we took Alice home and spent the rest of the day relaxing together. 🛍️ Trafford Centre Shopping & Holiday Clothes Haul On Friday, Lawrence and I headed to the Trafford Centre for a little shopping trip while the kids were at school. We had a look around the Haribo shop and Primark, where we picked up some clothes for the kids ready for our holiday. Afterwards, we walked across to ASDA, which had 20% off clothing, and managed to find a few more bits as well. Once I got home, I shared a little haul showing everything we bought. 🐶 Bluey’s Big Play at The Lowry On Saturday, I took the kids to see Bluey’s Big Play at The Lowry with gifted tickets. Lawrence was working, so my brother came along with us instead, which was really nice. The show was so much fun and the kids absolutely loved seeing Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli live on stage. After the show, we popped into the Cadbury shop where the kids picked up some mini eggs and I bought some strawberry and orange creams 🍫 👉 You can read more about our visit and my shorter review on my blog Sarah Monaghan https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/bluey-s-big-play-at-the-lowry-a-fun-filled-family-theatre-trip-with-the-kids 👉 And you can find my full review on All About Theatre https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-bluey-s-big-play-at-the-lowry-23-05-2026 🔗 Read More About Our Week If you’d like to read more about our week in more detail, you can read our Family Weekly Update blog post over on my blog Sarah Monaghan here: 👉https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/family-weekly-update-18th-24th-may-bluey-s-big-play-trafford-centre-shopping-alice-s-sports If you enjoy weekly vlogs, UK family life, theatre trips, shopping vlogs and real-life family routines, don’t forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment 💬 🎶 Music from Epidemic Sound. Come with us to see Bluey’s Big Play at The Lowry! #bluey
💙This live stage adaptation of the hugely popular children’s TV series follows Bluey and Bingo as they secretly hide Bandit’s phone in an attempt to get him away from his screen and joining in with their games instead. What follows is a funny, chaotic and heartwarming adventure packed with music, dancing, imagination and lots of familiar Bluey moments that younger fans absolutely loved. The puppetry throughout the show is genuinely brilliant and it really does feel like stepping directly into an episode of Bluey. Alice loved the grannies racing around in their little car while Leo was so excited when Chattermax appeared on stage. The finale was also so much fun, with giant inflatable balls and bubbles flying around the theatre while children cheered and danced along. Overall, this is such a joyful family theatre experience and a brilliant introduction to live theatre for younger audiences. We gave Bluey’s Big Play 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💙 You can catch it at The Lowry until 31st May @Lowry #bluey #BlueysBigPlay #TheLowry #familytheatre #mancheste

Weekly Vlog #453 | Karate Kid The Musical, Trafford Centre Shopping & The Detective Dog
Come along with us for Weekly Vlog #453, where we share what we got up to during the week of 11th – 17th May in this real-life UK family vlog 💜 This week included Trafford Centre shopping, Disney finds in Primark, theatre trips to The Karate Kid The Musical and The Detective Dog, plus cosy family moments at home. 🛍️ Trafford Centre Shopping & Disney Primark Finds On Wednesday, after dropping the kids off at school, I headed to the Trafford Centre for a little shopping trip. I started the morning with breakfast from Greggs before heading to the Haribo shop to pick up some of our favourite sweets that you don’t usually see in other shops. After that, I walked across to Trafford Palazzo to look around Primark and ended up filming a Disney come shop with me video after spotting lots of fun Disney items. I also had a look around Primark Home, picked up a few clothes for Alice from ASDA, grabbed lunch from KFC and finished the trip with Krispy Kreme doughnuts 🍩 🎭 The Karate Kid The Musical – Palace Theatre Manchester On Thursday, Lawrence and I headed into Manchester to see The Karate Kid The Musical at Palace Theatre Manchester. We travelled into the city via tram and arrived ahead of the 2:30pm matinee performance. As always, one of my first stops was the merchandise stand, where I picked up a programme and one of the magnets for my collection before we headed into the auditorium. We were seated in Row A in the stalls and had a fantastic view of the stage throughout the performance. Even though I’d never seen the original Karate Kid films before, I still found the story really easy to follow and genuinely engaging. Lawrence is already a fan of the movies and said afterwards that the musical stayed very faithful to the original story. 👉 You can read more about our visit and my shorter review on my blog Sarah Monaghan https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/review-the-karate-kid-the-musical-at-palace-theatre-manchester-a-nostalgic-feel-good-theatre-tr 👉 And you can find my full review on All About Theatre https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-the-karate-kid-the-musical-palace-theatre-manchester 🐶 The Detective Dog at Z-arts Manchester On Saturday, we headed to Z-arts Manchester to see The Detective Dog. We arrived early before the performance started, which gave the kids plenty of time to enjoy the downstairs play area with the giant red bus that children can climb inside. Before the show, Leo especially loved the interactive “guess the smell” activity inspired by Nell’s detective nose, where children could investigate different scent boxes. We had fantastic seats in Row D with a really clear central view of the stage, and even before the performance started the colourful storybook-style set looked so inviting. The show itself was warm, imaginative and full of lovely audience interaction, and both Alice and Leo stayed completely engaged throughout. After the show, Lawrence had to head straight to work while the rest of us headed home for a quieter afternoon together. 👉 You can read more about our visit and my shorter review on my blog Sarah Monaghan https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/review-the-detective-dog-at-z-arts-manchester-a-lovely-family-theatre-trip-full-of-books-puppetr 👉 And you can find my full review on All About Theatre https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-the-detective-dog-z-arts-16-05-2026 🔗 Read More About Our Week If you’d like to read more about our week in detail, you can check out my Family Weekly Update blog post here: 👉 https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/family-weekly-update-11th-–-17th-may-karate-kid-the-musical-the-detective-dog-trafford-centre If you enjoy weekly vlogs, theatre trips, UK family life, Trafford Centre shopping and real-life routines, don’t forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment 💬 🎶 Music from Epidemic Sound. Come along with me for Weekly Vlog #452, a real-life UK family vlog sharing our week of 4th – 10th May 💜 This week included a Trafford Centre shopping trip, two theatre trips and some lovely family moments throughout the week. 🛍️ Trafford Centre Day Out On Tuesday, Lawrence had the day off work, so while the kids were at school we headed to the Trafford Centre for a little shopping trip together. We had a look around the Haribo shop and Primark, where we picked up a few bits for the kids before heading home. 🎭 Bank of Dave The Musical – Opening Night On Thursday evening, Lawrence and I headed to the official opening night / press night of Bank of Dave The Musical. It was such a fun night at the theatre and definitely a show that surprised me in the best way. 👉 You can read more about our visit and a short review on my Blog Sarah Monaghan https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/review-bank-of-dave-the-musical-at-the-lowry-our-press-night-theatre-trip-to-the-world-premiere 👉 And you can find my full review on All About Theatre https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-bank-of-dave-the-musical-the-lowry-07-05-2026 🍺 Choir of Man at Manchester Opera House On Friday, I went for lunch with my parents before heading to the Manchester Opera House to see The Choir of Man. The show was so much fun and had such an amazing atmosphere. One of the most unique things about it was that audience members could actually go up onto the stage before the show and during the interval, which made the whole experience feel really immersive and interactive. After the show, I had to rush home so Lawrence could head out to see the evening performance himself. Lawrence had such a great time too — he got photos with the cast on stage and even joined them on stage during the interval while they sang songs together, which made the experience even more memorable. 👉 You can read more about our visit and a short review on my Blog Sarah Monaghan https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/review-the-choir-of-man-at-opera-house-manchester-a-joyful-celebration-of-friendship-music-com 👉 And you can find my full review on All About Theatre https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-choir-of-man-opera-house-manchester-08-05-2026 🔗 Read More About Our Week If you’d like to read more about our week in detail, you can check out my Family Weekly Update blog post here: 👉 https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/family-weekly-update-4th-10th-may-bank-of-dave-the-musical-choir-of-man-trafford-centre-day If you enjoy weekly vlogs, UK family life, theatre trips, Manchester theatre and real-life routines, don’t forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment 💬 🎶 Music from Epidemic Sound. Weekly Vlog #450 | Matilda, Legally Blonde, Zog & Family Theatre Trips & Days Out
Come along with me for Weekly Vlog #450, a real-life UK family vlog sharing our week of 13th – 19th April 💜 This week was our second week of the Easter holidays, and it ended up being such a fun-filled week packed with family theatre trips, days out, musicals and some really special experiences. 🎭 Sisters 360 at Waterside Arts (Gifted Tickets) On Tuesday, we headed to Waterside Arts in Sale to see Sisters 360 as a family, and it was such a lovely, easy theatre trip. With Waterside Arts being just a couple of tram stops away for us, it makes such a convenient day out with the kids. We had front row seats, which made the experience even more exciting as both Alice and Leo got some lovely interaction during the show. 👉 Read my reviews here: All About Theatre: https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-sisters-360-waterside-arts-sale-14-04-2026 Sarah Monaghan: https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/review-sisters-360-at-waterside-arts-a-fun-feel-good-family-theatre-trip-with-the-kids After the show, we grabbed McDonald’s for lunch before heading home. 🐉 A Double Show Day at The Lowry Wednesday was a very busy but exciting day! In the afternoon, Alice and I headed to The Lowry to see Zog (Gifted Tickets), which was such a fun family theatre experience — and after the show, the children even got to meet the cast and puppets. 👉 Zog review: https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-zog-the-lowry-15-04-2026 Then later that evening, Alice and I returned to The Lowry for The Boy at the Back of the Class (Gifted Tickets), which was such a powerful and emotional production. 👉 Boy at the Back of the Class review: https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-the-boy-at-the-back-of-the-class-the-lowry-15-04-2026 💖 Legally Blonde in Liverpool On Thursday, I travelled to Liverpool to see Legally Blonde The Musical starring Hannah Lowther as Elle Woods — and I absolutely loved it! 🍽️ Family Lunch & A Magical Matilda Evening Friday started with a lovely lunch at Coppice Wood Farm with my parents before an extra special evening. That evening, Leo stayed with my parents while Lawrence and I took Alice to see Matilda at Manchester Palace Theatre. The show itself was fantastic, but what made it even more memorable was getting to meet Richard Hurst (Miss Trunchbull!) afterwards and being given a backstage tour — such an amazing experience. 🐻 Mika and the Polar Bear at Z-arts (Gifted Tickets) On Saturday, I took the kids to Z-arts to see Mika and the Polar Bear, which was such a beautiful family show. The children absolutely loved meeting Mika and the polar bear after the performance, which made the experience even more magical. 👉 Review here: https://www.allabouttheatreuk.com/post/review-mika-and-the-polar-bear-z-arts-18-04-2026 🍝 Birthday Celebrations We rounded off the week on Sunday with a meal at Pesto in the Trafford Centre to celebrate one of our friend’s birthdays. 🔗 Read More About Our Week If you’d like to read about our week in more detail, you can check out my Family Weekly Update blog post here: 👉 https://www.sarahmonaghan.com/post/family-weekly-update-13th-19th-april-zog-matilda-backstage-tour-legally-blonde-easter-holid If you enjoy weekly vlogs, UK family life, theatre trips, Easter holiday activities, family days out and real-life routines, don’t forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment 💬 🎶 Music from Epidemic Sound.
